My Story
He is the Potter. I am the Clay.

Take a lump of clay . . . or an unshaped human life . . . send him to college where he gets involved with Campus Crusade for Christ . . . in Omaha where he helps start a college-age coffeehouse ministry . . . let him start taking Bible classes, take part in a churchplant, and begin planning his whole life around being a pastor  . . . only to uproot and plant him in China for a year . . .  and what do you get?

A lump of clay prepared and shaped for campus ministry in Utah.

My story is an interesting one. To the extent I'm able to share it here, I hope you are encouraged by it. More importantly, I hope you see the touch of a loving Creator who has intimately shaped my life so He can prepare me for the work He made me for.

More on my story coming soon!

My Team
Impact Campus Ministries - Utah

God has called me to Salt Lake City not only as an individual, but as part of a team with Tommy and Jennifer White and Impact Campus Ministries. Our greatest strength as a team is relationships. This is a direct result of our individual relationships with the God of the Bible. My team leaders, Tommy and Jennifer White, are two of the most encouraging people I know. They treat each individual with love, respect, and admiration. It is good to feel appreciated and wanted for who you are!

Since our ministry is relationship-based and not event-based, our first priority is to meet with students on over a cup of coffee or in a small group. These are not just people we work with; these are our friends, brothers, and sisters. We do our best to walk with them, help them deal with whatever is coming at them, and model a life of prayer rooted in God's Word and intimately connected to the Holy Spirit.

Our weekly Bible Study meets on Tuesday nights at Tommy and Jennifer's house. We come together as a family to eat together, share life, pray for each other, study God's word, and discuss how to apply it in our lives. It's amazing how God's Spirit can bring out deep truths by giving each individual in the group an insight, word from scripture, or experience that contributes to the group as a whole!

Our Team of Campus Ministers
Tommy White - Team Leader. In 2008, Tommy stepped down from worship pastor at Kingsway Christian Church in Omaha, NE to pursue God's call in Salt Lake City, UT with his wife Jennifer and 3 kids. He has always been a "pastoral" guy, whether it's visiting shut-ins, mentoring teens, feeding the homeless, or praying with those in need. His background in worship ministry and athletics give him a unique connection with college students interested in music and sports.

Jennifer White - Associate Campus Minister. Daughter of a pastor and wife of a worship minister, Jennifer has experience on many levels of church ministry. Jennifer has become a mentor and stabilizing agent in the lives of many young women. Girls love her because she is down-to-earth and open with her own doubts, fears, and struggles, which helps them cope with their own. Jennifer is also the Homeschooling Headmistress of her and Tommy's three children: Libby, Sam, and Anna.

Matt Doubet - Recruit. With his experience teaching in China and connections to Cross Culture Club, Matt has become friends with many international students. He has had several opportunities to share the gospel or bring someone to church for the first time. Matt spent 4 years as a student leader with Campus Crusade for Christ at the University of Nebraska Omaha where he majored in Computer Science. This gives him a unique perspective on students' lives, spiritual needs, and thought processes. His computer, athletic, drama, and speech backgorunds help him become friends easily with a variety of people.

Brett Ricley - Recruit. A "Student Ministry" graduate of Nebraska Christian College, Brett took over as worship pastor at Kingsway Christian when Tommy moved to Utah. Still following in Tommy's footsteps, Brett is now raising support with his wife Nicole and son Jonathon so they can join our team in Utah. Brett's teachable disposition and heart for living out the gospel will make him a great addition to our team. We can't wait to have him in Utah!
